As a child I often dreamed,
of treasures I would find,
while digging in my mothers yard,
rewards of every kind.
That child has grown, and now the man,
no longer dreams of gold,
I found a greater gift one day,
the best has yet been told.
The treasure I was looking for,
while digging in the sod,
was always there in front of me,
the only Son of God.
The jewels of earth do not compare,
to what I have in store,
so now I dream of what I'll see,
when I reach that golden shore.
