The Great I Am

He spoke, and the world was created
He smiled, and said this work is good
the moon and the stars
He placed into orbit, let every creature say,
(chorus)
Blessing and honor, glory and power,
and worthy is the Lamb,
with thousands of thousands, voices of angels,
singing praise to Him, the Great I Am

By his hand, every mountain raised
his voice, and the waters they came
the lamb and the lion
he made them together, let every creature say,
(chorus)
(bridge)
With one more day of work to go
he created you and me
to one day worship at his feet
and proclaim his majesty
(chorus)

Help me Lord, so I can be
with all I am like you,
while walking through this sinful world,
my light be shining true.

You came to earth as mortal man,
and lived a sinless life,
so help me Lord, each day I pray,
when I'm compassed with strife.

While others all around me,
are "reaching for the stars",
help me Lord to not forget,
your wounds, the stripes and scars.

And if by chance your love shines through,
and someone see's in me,
your mercy, truth, and righteousness,
is where they need to be,

I'll praise you Lord, with all my heart,
and lift my voice to sing,
proclaiming you my Saviour, Lord,
my Master, Friend, and King.

When I am poor and needy,
and my heart is wounded within me,
I look to you God to save me,
with your love and mercy.

For your love and your mercy,
is higher than the heavens,
reaching to the skies,
glorious and majestic are your deeds.

You are gracious and full of compassion,
your righteousness endures forever,
let your glory be over all the earth,
and your wonders to be remembered.

I will praise you Lord, now and forever,
from the rising of the sun,
to the place where it sets,
I will praise you in the multitude.

That they may know,
that it is your hand,
that you God,
have done it.

From the ends of the earth I call unto you,
I call with a heart that is breaking,
lead me to the Rock that is higher than I,
my fortress which never is shaking.

For you are my shelter and God of my mercy,
I will sing of your love and your power,
find rest O my soul in God alone,
and trust in him every hour.
He listens to my cries for help,
for to him I will pray,
in the morning as I look up,
untill the end of day.

Let all who put their trust in him,
forever joyfully sing,
how majestic is your name O Lord,
my Saviour and my King.

The Viel of the Temple

When morning had come, the chief priests and elders,
took council against Jesus, to put him to death,
and when they had bound him, they led him away,
to stand before Pilate, for justice that day.

Then the soldiers of Pilate, took Jesus and led,
him into a hall, thorns placed on his head,
and after they mocked him, his raiment put on,
took him to Golgotha, a place of the skull.

Now from the sixth hour, there was darkness all over,
the ninth hour Christ cried God, why forsakest thou me,
then those who had stood there, said he calls Elias,
would Elias come save him, they wanted to see.

Then Jesus cried out once again, and yielded up the ghost

And behold the veil of the temple, was rent in twain that day,
from top to the bottom, and all the earth did quake,
the veil of the temple, was rent in twain that day,
then Jesus Christ our Saviour, in three days rose again!

(this was written a few years ago when I only listened to "southern" gospel)

The Word

One day there was a certain man who came upon a group of christians discussing the word of God. There was among them one who was scolding another, for he read the Holy Scriptures from a different interpretation.
The man who passed by said,"why do you scold this one", and they said to him,"he reads the Holy Scriptures from an interpretation that is not known to us or acceptable."
The man said unto them,"you have spoken with your own mouths that what he reads is the Holy Scriptures. I ask each of you, he that is wisest among you, let him read to me from the Hebrew, and from the Latin, and from the Greek." And they answered him and said "we cannot, for we do not understand these writings, but our fathers before us have translated so we may read and understand."
And the man said,"it is good that you read and understand, but why do you place this as a stumbling stone before your brother? For which is easier, to have him read and not understand, and seek for one to explain it, or read that which is already explained, and be filled with joy because of his understanding?"
"Those who hunger for Gods word, may they find it in any and all interpretation, with understanding, joy, and peace."

In visions he doth speak to me,
each word I write with care,
the message to the world is clear,
and with them I must share.

The voice of truth is in the air,
for he who hath an ear,
sweet peace it whispers to my soul,
and calms my every fear.

Just like a mighty rushing wind,
or in a still small voice,
he's calling out to you today,
to listen, is your choice.
